Robert Vaughn

Carmine

An iconic Emmy Award winning and Oscar nominated actor, Robert Vaughn's career spans decades, including roles on film, television, and the stage. Some credits include: The Magnificent Seven, Oscar nominated The Young Philadelphians, Bullitt, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., BBC’s Hustle, The Towering Inferno, and countless others. He was nominated for a Best Actor Golden Globe twice for The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and two others times for Best Promising Newcomer and Best Supporting Actor for The Young Philadelphians. In 1970, Robert was nominated for a BAFTA for his performance in Bullitt. Robert received his Star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in 1998. Gold Star is his last on-screen performance.

Catherine Curtin

Catherine Curtin joins second season of Stranger Things as Dustin's Mom and can be seen on the second season of Insecure as Issa's Boss. She plays Wanda Bell in Orange Is The New Black. In 2015 and 2016 she won the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

Victoria Negri

Victoria Negri is an award-winning writer/director/producer/actress. Her feature directorial debut, GOLD STAR, which she wrote, directed, produced, and starred in, alongside Oscar nominated actor Robert Vaughn will see a November 2017 theatrical and VOD release. The film won the Audience Award at the Buffalo International Film Festival and Blue Whiskey Film Festival (Chicago), as well as Best Feature Film at the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival. Victoria won the Lisa Blount Memorial Award for Acting at the Oxford Film Festival and Catherine Curtin won Best Supporting Actress at Blue Whiskey. The incubator, Big Vision Empty Wallet, selected GOLD STAR as an Inaugural Kickstart Diversity Film. Additionally, Victoria has directed and produced numerous award-winning short films, music videos and web-series featured at festivals around the world, including, the Lower East Side Film Festival, Nashville Film Festival, Cleveland Film Festival, Nitehawk Shorts Festival, and many more. She’s acted in award-winning features, shorts and web-series featured at: Cinequest Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand, Tribeca and more. Additionally, Victoria has written pieces on film for NoFilmSchool, BitchFlicks and The Talkhouse. She is a proud member of The Film Fatales, NYWIFT and The FilmShop.

 

Jacob Heimer

Jacob Heimer is thrilled to be making his feature film debut with the Gold Star team. TV & Film credits include: Difficult People (Hulu), The Bleeder (w/ Liev Schreiber), Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Netflix), and Maybe Sunshine (web-series). Theater: Soul Doctor (Off-Broadway), Twelfth Night (Elm Shakespeare), Paloma (Regional Premiere/Kitchen Theater), Semiar (W.H.A.T.), Orpheus Variations (HERE Arts), As You Like It (CT Free Shakespeare), Fantasticks (Palm Beach Dramaworks), Next to Normal (Music Theater of CT), Legend of hte Word (Matt Cowart). Jacob can currently be seen wtih Shaq in an Icy Hot commercia and pedaling a low-rider selling Samsung phones. BFA Syracuse University. Anna Garduño

Anna Garduño is an actress, producer, writer, and teacher. In addition to Gold Star, recent credits include a supporting role in the upcoming 3D animated  movie The Underdogs by The Weinstein Company. She is Executive Producer for the TV series Sacred Games from the international hit novel of the same name by Vikram Chandra. Other producing credits include The Majestic and The Mist during her time as President/Partner of  Frank Darabont's Darkwoods Productions. TV performance credits include: One Life to Live, Moonlighting, and ER. Anna has been nominated for a Best Character Performance Award for her role as Kiera in the video games Jak & Daxter 1 & 2. Other voice credits include: Kioka, the Digimon film and series, All Grown Up, and Angry Beavers among others

Max Rhyser is an actor and producer living in New York City. His most recent stage credits include My Funny Valentine (Nelson George) and When Blood Ran Red (Kenneth Ferrone). Max was awarded outstanding lead actor for his performances in The Austerity of Hope and Cover. His most recent film credits include Frankenstein vs The Mummy, Gold Star, and Occupy Me.

Victoria Negri

Writer/Director/Producer

Victoria Negri attended NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts for Drama and is now a working writer/director/producer/actress. Gold Star is her feature length debut as writer/director. Production credits include: Gold Star, a music video for the artist Silverhart, and short films Into the Woods, Runners, and Cake (now in post). Writing credits: Gold Star and Runners. Assistant Director credits include: webseries Actor’s Anonymous and Into the Woods. Victoria is a proud member of The Film Fatales, IFP, and NYWIFT and is a co-leader of the South Brooklyn chapter of The FilmShop.

Katie Maguire

Producer

Katie Maguire is an award-winning actress, writer/director and producer. Credits include associate producer on the award-winning Slamdance feature Hank and Asha, producer of Not Right Now, Waiting For The Sun, The Session and writer, director, and star of the award winning web-series LI Divas. Acting credits include: BillionsSearch PartyBlue BloodsAll Hallow’s EveThe SessionSex and The City, and Red Canyon. Katie is currently a freelance producer at Laundry Service, Cycle, and most recently Giant Spoon in New York City. She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, AEA, and NYWIFT.

Effie Fradelakis

Producer

A Producer/Director, Effie Fradelakis currently works in Production at Blue Sky Studios, a division of 20th Century Fox. Past production credits include: Agent of Death (currently in film festival circuit), On The Loose, and music videos for Bright Light Bright Light. Effie’s directorial debut, Blooming Road, has played at the Queens World Film Festival, Female Eye Film Festival, and Katra Film Series. She is currently in creative development as a producer for feature film Golden.

Ellyn Vander Wyden

Ellyn Vander Wyden is an independent film producer/ line producer. 

Her recent projects have received awards, recognition and worldwide distribution. “SPACEMAN” starring Josh Duhamel received a 10 city theatrical run, “Sweet Sweet Lonely Girl” official selection at Fantastic Fest and Stiges Festival International 2016 “Gold Star” staring Robert Vaughn, winning the Audience award at BIFF 2016, Best Feature Film The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival, Hide/Seek official selections of both Adirondak Film Festival and The Big Apple Film Festival 2016, “Falling” 2016 Official selection of Palm Beach international Film Festival “The Volunteer” 2013 Urban World Film Festival Best Narrative Feature, “The Word” 2013 Manhattan Film Festival Best Dramatic Feature, “Brilliant Mistakes” 2012 official selection of TIFF, RIFF, Winner 2012 Dreamland International Film Festival.

Saro Varjabedian

Cinematographer

Saro Varjabedian is an award-winning cinematographer of Armenian descent, who has filmed in Armenia, Lebanon, Mexico and India. He holds an MFA from Columbia in Film. His work on the short film Jesus Loves Yusef won Best Student Cinematography at the 2012 Palm Springs International Film Festival. Elliot Loves has aired on HBO Latino, HBO Zone, HBO Comedy, HBO Go, Cinemax, Cinemax Go, and Hulu. Other credits include: Gold Star, Saint NicholasEl Gallo, and The Traveler.

Ben Levin

Composer

Ben Levin is a passionate guitarist and composer.  He graduated with highest honors from Berklee College of Music, is boundlessly dedicated to his craft, yet his sound remains raw and unpredictable. His music tells intimate tales of life, love and death through both huge orchestral arrangements and quiet whispering songs. Ben has toured internationally with his bands Ben Levin Group and Bent Knee performing rock shows and original scores to classic silent films.

 

Layla Calo-Baird

Production Designer

Layla Calo-Baird is a multi-talented New England and NYC based Production Designer. Working art department for feature films and television, she pulls knowledge from her experience in home contracting work, professional photography, furniture restoration, and painting. Her work has appeared in Toronto International Film Festival, and on SyFy and Lifetime and soon PBS.

Chris Steele-Nicholson

Editor

Chris Steele-Nicholson has worked as a music video director, DP, and editor for Partizan in London. Other credits include: Bolden! (currently in post). Imagine I’m Beautiful, which won Best U.S. Feature, Best Actress, and Best Editor at the NYC International Film Festival, as well as awards at the RXSM Film Festial, Arizona International Film Festival, the Canada International Film Festival and the Cape Fear International Film Festival.

 

Judy Bowman

Casting Director

Judy has been casting since 1993. She has cast projects with: LAByrinth, Rattlestick, Partial Comfort, Project Y, Theater for a New Audience, and the Mint Theater Company. Her work in regional theater includes the Woolly Mammoth (DC), Actors Theatre of Louisville/Humana Festival, American Repertory Theatre, San Francisco Playhouse, and the Kitchen Theatre (Ithaca, NY). She co-cast David Mamet's The Old Neighborhood on Broadway. Judy is an Adjunct Asst. Professor in the MFA Film School at Columbia University, and was on faculty at Harlem School of the Arts for 3 years.

 

Molly Maguire

Costume Designer

Molly Maguire is a Nashville based Artist/Filmmaker working as a Costume Designer and Production Designer. She is the founder of Mammy Designs, a sustainable wallets line based out of Brooklyn, NY. After graduating with honors from Maryland Institute of Art, with a BFA in Painting and Video Art Molly headed to NYC. For over ten years she has worked on many creative projects including gallery shows, fashion shows, theatre, film, and styling. Another passion is writing and directing. Her film The Session has played in over ten film festivals. Molly continues to split her time between NYC and Nashville while raising a family and working.
